Big Lou's Bakery

As a child, I always had an entrepreneurial mindset and a true passion for food. So much so, that as a teenager I started baking and selling desserts in high school and honestly made a killing lol. I probably wasn’t supposed to but eventually even the teachers started buying them.

During that time, I knew I loved being in the kitchen and wanted to continue on that path. I went to U of H ( Go Coogs) for Hotel/Restaurant Management was able to learn so much about the industry from an accounting standpoint, management and took multiple cooking classes.

After graduation, I managed hotels and restaurants for 8 years and gained so much knowledge on flavors, pairings and worked alongside amazing chefs.

In 2025 after leaving my corporate job, I decided to put the apron back on but this time on my own terms. I started Big Lou’s Bakery in honor of my grandmother Louise Thompson, she was the backbone of our family and had a big, bold personality. Although she didn’t bake, I find joy in keeping her name alive. My friends and family will tell you that I’m a jack of all trades in the kitchen but my bakery specializes in cookies, custom cakes, cupcakes and pies. Can’t wait for you to try!
